My research area is usable security and privacy, which focuses on people and designing technology that fits their needs. My hobbies include reading, hiking, genealogy, and landscape photography. James Conners

James is a 6th year PhD student who does research in cryptographic password replacement systems. He has a BS in Computer Engineering Technology and a MS in Information Technology, focusing in Industrial Automation. He is heading into his third year as a year-round intern at Sandia National Laboratories, where he has worked on a different Command-and-Control systems (C2s) and has worked on implementing FIDO2 passwordless authentication for web and OS authentication. He grew up in and spent most of his life near Gary, IN, before moving to Utah for his PhD in 2018. His hobbies include playing video games, MTG, and reading Sci-fi novels.
